My new Laptop!
December 30, 2007
After a long and tiresome search for a usable and inexpensive laptop for my personal use I have found and bought Compaq Presario C714NR, which is a speedy dude with Intel Dual core and 1MB RAM. It has a flat screen, CD/DVD RW, Broadcom WLAN/Bluetooth, Realteck Fast Ethernet and 120GB HDD. The most wonderful thing (why it took me so much time to investigate) is that it runs Linux beautifully. It comes with Vista but I did not like the response time of Vista on this machine. Linux runs like hell on it.
It seems that it will add a lot of efficiency i my research and development projects ![]()
Another Joining …..
December 18, 2007
I was offered a visiting package from IM|Sciences which I accepted and thus had to leave Qurtaba. I am teaching data structures (I scored 100/100 in my BCS), Programming fundamentals (using C Language, scored 97/100 in BCS), Introduction to IT (I’ve been teaching intro to computers but this is more interesting, gives a wholesome view of businesses and computers) and Artificial Intelligence (An interesting subject but very difficult to motivate students because they can’t see an output as in programming and networking).
I am enjoying and students (not AI) seem to like me, which is a good feeling and I love them too (when I see them taking interest and working hard).
When I started teaching, I made up my mind that I will try my best to teach all my students, irrespective of subject and program, how to write original work with proper references because we as a nation are suffering a lot from plagiarism. I will try my level best to publish their work in online magazines and if possible send to conferences.
Lets see what future holds for us ……
Joining Qurtaba University
October 21, 2007
I was selected as lecturer at Qurtaba University and joined her on 19th of Oct. I personally appreciate the Islamic environment that they have managed to preserve in an era where valueless western culture prevails and where enlightened (slaves of their own will) people are being empowered. I pray that it shall grow as a leading institution and I will try my best to add some good value to it while I am serving here.

I have successfully found a solution for Distributed Mandatory Access Control and will soon model it in UML for the completion of my thesis. Recluze, Amin and Asghar Khan are helping me out with UML beocause I am a lay-man at it. InshAllah, I will be submitting my thesis in December.
